The Twelth EDCTP Forum will take place take place on 15-20 June 2025, at the Kigali Convention Centre in Kigali, Rwanda. The event will be hosted by the Ministry of Health of Rwanda and the Rwanda Biomedical Centre, and jointly organised by Global Health EDCTP3 and the EDCTP Association

The theme for the 2025 Forum is “Better health through global research partnerships”.

Agenda:

1. Update on the Compiled Agnostic Standard.

2. Update on the Mpox standard (African Context) development:

  • Report from the Africa CDC, CONSULTATIVE MEETING TO ACCELERATE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MOLECULAR-BASED WASTEWATER SURVEILLANCE FOR MPOX OUTBREAK RESPONSE IN AFRICA (13–15 MARCH 2025); 

  • Potential collaborations with: Collins, leading the Mpox sequencing, CDC Africa; and Eddy Lusamaki and Placide Mbala, DRC.

3. Malaria standard development: Brainstorming.
4. Questionnaire for new members to join the DSDI WG.
5. How to Leverage the communications team: Develop inclusive surveys and outreach materials to enhance engagement.

Fostering Cross-Community Collaboration | WHO Pandemic Hub

Fostering Cross-Community Collaboration to advance pandemic and epidemic intelligence

Around the world, numerous initiatives are pushing the boundaries of pandemic and epidemic intelligence, leveraging data, technology, and collaboration to enhance global preparedness and response. Collaboratory, an initiative of the WHO Hub in Berlin, provides a dynamic digital space where epidemiologists, data scientists, developers, modelers, and other experts from diverse communities come together to co-create, test, and refine cutting-edge tools for advanced analysis. In this Innovation Forum session, we will explore the Collaboratory digital environment and the communities of practice it hosts, each contributing to the evolution of innovative approaches in disease intelligence. Community members will showcase their latest work, highlighting the most promising tools and technologies that are shaping the future of pandemic and epidemic management. The session will also discuss how this collaborative environment can continue accelerating insights and driving more effective, timely decision-making in public health.
